The Greenville Track Club Nominating Committee is proud to announce the organization's 2023 Officers and Board of Directors effective January 1, 2023. The on-line voting results for the proposed slate received a 98.7% approval rating. Any comments opposing were also recorded and noted to be reviewed for possible resolution. Congratulations to all of the 2023 leadership and a sincere thank you to the 2022 officers and directors, who made our 50th Anniversary Year so good.

The GTC Nominating Committee is proud to announce the proposed slate of Officers and Board of Directors for 2023. All current GTC members are encouraged to vote "yes" or "no" via the menu below. If voting "no" please add your comments as to why, so that the Nominating Committee can address and respond. We do request each voters' name so that we can ensure that only current GTC members votes are counted. Voting will be open until end of day, November 6, 2022. Thank you. We would like for those who knew Laura Caldwell and want to help us celebrate her wonderful life to join us Thursday at 11:00 am. The location is at Promenade Park in Promenade de Montebello neighborhood off of Piney Mountain Road. The gate code is 10060.
Parking will be along the streets adjacent to the park. Laura recently passed on September 20 due to complications from a brain aneurysm rupture suffered on June 7th. She was an active member of the Greenville Track Club since 2010 and also one of the coaches for our ASICS GTC-ELITE program. The Celebration of Life will be casual attire, as Laura would have preferred for her friends. It is also Laura's 70th birthday. Comfort food will also be available. The Greenville Track Club inducted two new members to its Hall of Fame during their October monthly meeting. Long time member (since 1989) Ian Whatley was honored for his stellar athletic achievements, including qualifying for and competing in eight US Olympic Track and Field Trials. The other inductee was Stewart Spinks, the Chairman of the Board and founder of the Spinx Company. Spinx has been the title sponsor of one of the GTC's major events--the Spinx Run Fest-- since 2005.

Additional parking is across the street. The Greenville Track Club is opening up the period for accepting nominations for a Club Officer or At Large Board Member for the 2023 calendar year. The period for submitting nominations is from September 16 through end of day October 15, 2021. Officer positions include: President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. Three of the eight At Large Board of Directors positions may be available to be filled. We have included information from our Club By Laws regarding the process below. Our Nominating Committee will review all nominations and develop a list of candidates to be presented digitally to the club membership for awareness and approval. NOMINATIONS FOR OFFICERS AND AT-LARGE BOARD MEMBERS Nominations shall be solicited from the membership by notice on the Greenville Track Club website or via social electronic media at least three (3) weeks in advance of the Annual Meeting. In the event At-Large Director or Officer positions have insufficient nominations before the Annual meeting, the current Executive Committee, by consensus of the GTC officers, who make up the committee, shall have the authority to appoint members to occupy unfilled positions. For an At-Large Board Position, nominees shall have been club members for a minimum of one (1) continuous year prior to the Annual Meeting and have volunteered for at least three (2) GTC events within the two (2) years prior to the Annual Meeting. For an Officer position, nominees shall have been club members for a minimum of two (2) continuous years prior to the Annual Meeting and have substantially volunteered for at least three (3) GTC events within the two (2) years prior to the Annual Meeting. In special cases, the Nominating Committee shall have the option to waive the above requirements. General Info & Requirements If nominated, be prepared to provide a summary of your volunteer involvement with the club. Confirmation may be required from race or event directors. Except for emergencies or other unforeseen circumstances, board members should commit to attending at least 7 out of 11 GTC monthly board meetings and monthly club meetings, whenever possible. Nominees should be willing to wear GTC apparel at club races except when representing their organizations at GTC Corporate Shield events or wearing sponsor apparel at a specific event. For At-Large Positions, please identify which of the following age groups the nominee will be in as of 1/1/23 as we're attempting to balance the membership on the board: Under 30, 31-45, 46-60 and 60 +.
