Nominations for 2024 GTC Officers and Board of Directors is Now Open

The Greenville Track Club is opening up the period for accepting nominations for a Club Officer or At Large Board Member for the 2024 calendar year. The period for submitting nominations is from October 1 through end of day October 22, 2023.. 

Officer positions include: President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. Five of the eight At Large Board of Directors positions may be available to be filled. 

We have included information from our Club By Laws regarding the process below. Our Nominating Committee will review all nominations and develop a list of candidates to be presented digitally to the club membership for awareness and approval. 

​NOMINATIONS FOR OFFICERS AND AT-LARGE BOARD MEMBERS

Nominations shall be solicited from the membership by notice on the Greenville Track Club website or via social electronic media at least three (3) weeks in advance of the Annual Meeting. In the event At-Large Director or Officer positions have insufficient nominations before the Annual meeting, the current Executive Committee, by consensus of the GTC officers, who make up the committee, shall have the authority to appoint members to occupy unfilled positions.

For an At-Large Board Position, nominees shall have been club members for a minimum of one (1) continuous year prior to the Annual Meeting and have volunteered for at least three (2) GTC events within the two (2) years prior to the Annual Meeting.

For an Officer position, nominees shall have been club members for a minimum of two (2) continuous years prior to the Annual Meeting and have substantially volunteered for at least three (3) GTC events within the two (2) years prior to the Annual Meeting.

In special cases, the Nominating Committee shall have the option to waive the above requirements.

General Info & Requirements
If nominated, be prepared to provide a summary of your volunteer involvement with the club. Confirmation may be required from race or event directors.

Except for emergencies or other unforeseen circumstances, board members should commit to attending at least 7 out of 11 GTC monthly board meetings and monthly club meetings, whenever possible.

Nominees should be willing to wear GTC apparel at club races except when representing their organizations at GTC Corporate Shield events or wearing sponsor apparel at a specific event.
