GTC's Philippe Giguere Advances to 1500m Final at World Masters Athletics Championships

Greenville Track Club member Philippe Giguere is competing in the World Masters Athletics Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden and is representing his native country of Canada. After placing 10th in the Men's 55-59 800-meter final last Saturday with a seasonal best of 2:11.48, he qualified for this Saturday's Men's 55=59 1500-meter final. He was one of the two automatic qualifiers from Heat 1 as he placed second with a seasonal best of 4:28.33. Previously on August 14, Philippe ran 16:48.4 to place fifth in the men's 55-59 Age Group over 5,000 meters. Including today's prelim and the 800m prelim and final he will compete in five competitions at these championships.
