Dear Greenville Track Club members:
Over the next couple of years, it is my hope to accumulate and document the history of the Greenville Track Club. This is a massive task, but it's important for future generations to know who we are. Through the leadership of our founder Bill Keesling, we "practically invented road racing in the Upstate" and helped spawn hundreds of non-GTC events, 3-4 finish line companies, at least 6 running shoe stores and two publications over 45 plus years. Whether you are a long time member, past member or newbie, you are an integral part of the club's history. Please assist our effort by submitting your own experiences and recollections, photos of yourselves wearing Greenville Track Club apparel, newspaper articles, etc. If you have worn a GTC shirt or cap in an out of town event or on vacation somewhere, submit that as well. It would be great to have pictures of members wearing shirts or caps in different parts of the US and world. Please join the Facebook Group "Greenville Track Club History" or email me with your input. Sincerely, Jim Roberts Longtime GTC member and volunteer [email protected] |
