We are proud to announce an exciting collaboration between The Greenville News Run Downtown and the TD Bank Reedy River Run events for 2018. Runners may use a single entry fee to participate in both events, which are produced by the 45-year-old Greenville Track Club.
The Downtown Double is a "packaged entry" that allows a participant to enter two of Greenville's biggest and best road race events of 2018 with one entry fee. The first event is The Greenville News Run Downtown 5K, which is the unofficial kick-off for road racing in Greenville. It is scheduled for Saturday, January 20, 2018. The second event is Greenville's largest running event--the TD Bank Reedy River Run (10K or 5K). It is scheduled for Saturday, April 21, 2018. Both events start and finish on Greenville's famous Main Street.
For more details and to register for the Downtown Double, please visit https://runsignup.com/Race/SC/Greenville/DowntownDoubleGreenvilleNewsRunDowntownTDBankReedyRiverRun
And current Greenville Track Club members will receive an additional discount. This is the best value so register in the month of November to get the best pricing.
For runners who only desire to enter one of these events, there are the usual registration sites.

Dear Greenville Track Club members:
Over the next couple of years, it is my hope to accumulate and document the history of the Greenville Track Club.
This is a massive task, but it's important for future generations to know who we are. Through the leadership of our founder Bill Keesling, we "practically invented road racing in the Upstate" and helped spawn hundreds of non-GTC events, 3-4 finish line companies, at least 6 running shoe stores and two publications over 45 plus years.
Whether you are a long time member, past member or newbie, you are an integral part of the club's history.
Please assist our effort by submitting your own experiences and recollections, photos of yourselves wearing Greenville Track Club apparel, newspaper articles, etc. If you have worn a GTC shirt or cap in an out of town event or on vacation somewhere, submit that as well. It would be great to have pictures of members wearing shirts or caps in different parts of the US and world.
Please join the Facebook Group "Greenville Track Club History" or email me with your input.

ASICS Greenville Track Club-ELITE athletes lead the South Carolina Road Race Rankings that were released today. The rankings include performances through September 4, 2017.
Austin Steagall is ranked first among overall men. His former teammate Ryan Root, who recently moved to Tulsa, OK, is still ranked second. Former ASICS GTC-ELITE runners Adam Freudenthal and Ricky Flynn are now ranked fourth and fifth, respectively. The overall women's rankings are headed by ASICS GTC-ELITE teammates Kimberly Ruck and Alison Parris. Their teammate Kate Dodds is also ranked fifth.
For a runner to be included in the rankings they must have run at least two SC races on certified courses in the past year with one being the last six months. Times are used to judge performances with course difficulty taken into consideration. Head to head match ups are also considered. The most emphasis is placed on races in the past six months.
GTC-ELITE was established in 2012 and produced four qualifiers for the 2016 USA Olympic Trials Marathon in Los Angeles. The post-collegiate, Olympic development program is sponsored by ASICS, the 45-year-old Greenville Track Club, Greenville Health System, ScanSource, Joy Real Estate, the Bare Minimum Track Club, generous individual contributors and partnerships with Performance Therapy, Carolina Spine and Rehab, Soleus Running Watches, Boston Bill Sunglasses, Roll Recovery, FinalSurge, The ATI Running Academy, ElliptiGO, NormaTec Recovery Boots and Cocoa Elite recovery products.
