The April Greenville Track Club monthly meeting will be conducted on Monday, April 2 at
Puerta Vallarta Restaurant near Cherrydale Cinemas. Social time and ordering from 6:30 - 7:00 pm followed by meeting at 7:00 pm. Our speaker will be Alex Volfson, who is a Physical Therapist specializing in running related injuries for Bon Secours St. Francis. Come out and join us for some good food, fun, fellowship and information to help your running. We are a month away from the 41st TD Bank Reedy River Run in beautiful downtown Greenville. Registrations are trending up and it looks like we could sell out both the 10K like last year and also the 5K. If you can't run, we could definitely use your assistance as a Volunteer. In case you've been out of the country or just avoiding the news, our event is scheduled for Saturday, April 21, 2018 in beautiful downtown GVL.
We have multiple options to choose from, including packet pickup, course monitors, hydration stations, etc. If you are interested please visit our Volunteer sign up @ https://runsignup.com/Race/Volunteer/SC/Greenville/TDBankReedyRiverRun As you will see, there are time slots for volunteers beginning on Thursday for Packet Pickup through Saturday's activities. If you would like to volunteer, please sign up though our RunSignUp account (at the link above) and we will be able to contact you with the appropriate details. In 2017 for our 40th edition of the TD Bank Reedy River Run 10K, we awarded finishers medals to commemorate the milestone anniversary. The medals were such a hit, that we decided that medal would be the first in a series of "collectables" for Greenville's iconic running event.
While that first medal depicted our famous Liberty Bridge, which spans Greenville's Reedy River, our second edition medal highlights the Falls on the Reedy in our beautiful downtown. Don't miss out on adding the 2018 version to your running keepsakes. If you are not one of the over-one-thousand current registrants, don't delay and sign up soon @ www.tdbankreedyriverrun.com. Due to selling out the 10K in 2017, we have expanded the limit from 1500 to 1600 this year. See you on April 21. The March monthly meeting of the Greenville Track Club will be on Monday, March 5th at Puerta Valarta restaurant located in the Cherrydale Shopping complex on N. Pleasantburg Road. The restaurant is near Regal Cinemas.
Social time begins at 6:30 pm and the meeting at 7:00 pm. Meals are available and we encourage you to order your favorite Mexican fare. The speaker will be Bill Marable, the USATF Road Race Records Chair for South Carolina. In addition to having been an excellent runner, Bill is a Greenville Track Club Life Member, has measured many road courses for RRCA certification and was a past long time Reedy River Run Race Director. He has been keeping state records and rankings for many years. It promises to be very interesting; we hope you can attend. |
